Dr. Jack Frederick Kilpatrick’s “Clarinet Quintet”, Op. 115, performed live, on February 21st, 1976, by the University of Oklahoma Clarinet Quintet. Quintet personnel include: Stephen Clark — clarinet soloist, Karen Schnackenberg — 1st violin, Patti Hall — 2nd violin, Ted Bruehl — viola, and Dolly Berry — cello. This was a tribute lecture concert for Dr. Kilpatrick (1915-1967), a Cherokee Indian, born and raised in Stilwell, Oklahoma. This prolific composer also wrote the original incidental music for Samuel Beckett’s play, “Waiting for Godot” (for the original Broadway production).
