The Clarinet Quintet (Quintett für Klarinette und Streichquartett, composed 1933/34) by Friederike Schwarz is currently considered lost, meaning there is no known surviving manuscript or physical score available.
Historical records and archival research by the Sudetendeutsches Musikinstitut confirm the piece’s existence and active performance history in Prague between 1935 and 1938, where it was broadcast on German Radio in Prague (Deutscher Rundfunk in Prag). However, due to the devastating destruction of World War II and the tragic circumstances surrounding Schwarz’s death in 1945, the vast majority of her musical estate disappeared.
